Chloé SS20 Collection Review by Penny Karabey of Luxury Next Season for FashionWeek.Pro –
Paris, France – September 26th, 2019: Designer Natacha Ramsay-Levi took to the Grand Palais to showcase her fifth collection for the house of Chloe. After several seasons of exciting experimentation, the designer went back to basics, exploring the bohemian meets Parisian-chic DNA ‘ of the brand. This season saw a more polished and professional version of the Chloe girl on the runway. The playfully cut out and flowy blouses, complemented by loosely tailored suiting pieces to illustrate the bohemian approach to workwear, will surely be adopted by many (myself included). Ramsey-Levi’s suiting also donned boldly hemmed shorts and vests, adding another element of fun to workwear. There was an appealing simplicity to the collection, nothing was overdone or over-accessorized; there were no distracting theatrics or performances. All the focus was on the collection. The classic white Chloe blouse made several appearances with the most intriguing showing the iconic piece tucked into a burgundy leather skirt and paired with black boots. Ramsay-Levi also seemed to have a pattern and draping on the brain. Light orange and blue-hued florals in printed chiffon were popular in flowy dresses and tightly fitted tops. As for accessories, Chloe’s blogger favorite Tess bag was carried throughout the show, as well as a new bag shape featuring a top handle and two large zipper compartments. This bag has a shoulder strap and was shown mostly in medium and large sizes, perhaps signaling the return of larger handbags. It seems that Natacha Ramsay-Levi has found her footing at Chloe with the Spring-Summer 2020 collection, and we can’t wait to see what she does next.
